East Arnhem is a place where childhood feels wide and open. Kids grow up outdoors, fishing with family, riding bikes, exploring the bush and beaches nearby.

For kids growing up in East Arnhem, weekends are filled with cricket games, impromptu street footy, and camping under the stars. After-school fun stretches into long, light-filled evenings – beach bonfires, swims in clear water, and endless room to roam.

With open spaces and a relaxed, safe pace of life, East Arnhem is a place where families can slow down, enjoy the simple things, and let kids be kids.

Daycare & Early Learning

East Arnhem’s early learning and childcare centres provide nurturing and safe spaces for children to learn, play, and grow. There are 3 early childhood and childcare centres across the region, each with a strong sense of community for families settling in.

Early learning programs take advantage of our tropical climate, including lots of opportunities for outdoor education, cultural learning, and hands-on experiences. Our centres also employ local Indigenous educators reflecting our region’s ongoing commitment and connection to the Yolŋu people and culture .

Each centre offers different options for care (long day care, preschool programs, family day care).

Preschool enrolments can be completed through the same process as primary schools. More information can be found here: https://eastarnhem.nt.gov.au/services/child-care-services
